Student Parking and Permit Lottery
Due to construction and limited space, student parking on campus is restricted. A limited number of parking permits are available and are distributed through a lottery held near the beginning of each trimester. Students selected in the lottery who have paid the parking fee and supplied all required documents will receive a parking pass valid for the current trimester only.

Near the end of each trimester, the parking lottery will be rerun for the upcoming trimester. Students do not need to resubmit their names or application information each trimester. Once a student has entered the parking lottery, their name will remain in the lottery pool for the remainder of the school year, provided they continue to meet all eligibility requirements including attendance requirements. Students selected in each trimester's lottery will then have the opportunity to complete any remaining requirements and purchase a parking pass for the upcoming trimester. Based on each lottery’s results, students may be selected for multiple trimesters during the school year. 

To enter the lottery, students must complete an online application that includes:

• Basic contact information
• The license plate number of the vehicle that will be parked on campus
• A photo of the student’s valid driver’s license
• A photo of the proof of insurance for the vehicle that will be parked on campus
• Lottery winners will be notified by email. To receive a parking permit, selected students must:
• Clear all outstanding ASB fines
• Pay the parking permit fee
• Submit a signed parent or guardian permission form agreeing to all school parking rules
• Students must complete all requirements within 10 school days of receiving notification. If the requirements are not completed by the deadline, the permit will be offered to another student.

Parking Lottery Eligibility
Trimester 1: All students in grades 10 through 12 who meet the application requirements are eligible to enter the parking lottery. Students will be selected at random from the pool of eligible applicants. Freshmen are not eligible to enter the parking lottery.

Trimesters 2 and 3: Beginning with the 2026–27 school year, parking eligibility will be based in part on student attendance. Students with more than 10 days of unexcused absences during the previous trimester will not be eligible to receive a parking permit or park on campus during the following trimester.

Because student parking is extremely limited, the school prioritizes parking access for students who attend regularly, use their parking privileges consistently, and meet school expectations.

Off-Campus Parking
Students who are not selected in the lottery may still drive to school but must park legally on public streets off campus. The school is not responsible for vehicles parked off campus.

Students must plan accordingly, as tardies resulting from off-campus parking will not be excused. Students are expected to follow all applicable parking laws and may not block driveways or fire hydrants or park in other restricted areas.

Student Parking Areas
Beginning with the 2026–27 school year, students will no longer be assigned individual parking spaces. Students with a valid parking permit may park in any available space within a designated student parking area. Passes are valid for one Tri only. Students parking with an outdated pass will be ticketed. All student spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Staff members will continue to have assigned parking spaces. Student parking areas will be clearly marked, and staff-reserved spaces will be identified by separate signage. Students may not park in spaces reserved for staff.
Student parking restrictions are enforced during school hours, from 6:50 a.m. to 2:10 p.m., Monday through Friday, including late-start days. These restrictions are not enforced outside school hours.

Parking Permit Requirements
Parking permits must be clearly displayed from the rearview mirror or on the dashboard. Lost permits may be replaced for a fee through the ASB Office.

All parking permits are issued through the school office and are nontransferable. Permits may not be given, sold, traded, or transferred to another student. Students who attempt to give or sell a permit, or who attempt to purchase or obtain a permit outside the official school process, will have the permit revoked and may lose parking privileges for the remainder of the school year.

Parking Violations and Consequences
Parking rules are strictly enforced. Students without a valid parking permit may not park in designated student parking areas, even when spaces are available. Violations will result in the following escalating consequences:

• First offense: $20 fine
• Second offense: $30 fine
• Third offense: $50 fine and a meeting with the student and an administrator to review parking rules and expectations
• Additional offenses: $50 fine and a meeting with the student, a parent or guardian, and an administrator to review parking rules and expectations
• Repeated violations: Loss of eligibility to participate in the parking lottery for the current school year, future school years, or both

Vehicle Searches
WARNING: VEHICLES ARE SUBJECT TO SEARCH
Any vehicle parked on the Hazen campus, in the adjoining church parking lot, or on adjacent city streets considered an extension of the school campus may be subject to search when there are reasonable grounds to suspect a violation of school rules or applicable law.

A search may include all compartments, containers, and other areas of the vehicle. Once a search begins, the person responsible for the vehicle may not remove it from the area until the search has been completed.

26-27 Student Parking Lottery Timeline
The Tri 1 parking lottery will be held on August 21, 2026. Students will be notified by email if they have been selected for a pass by August 25, 2026.

To determine eligibility for a parking pass for Tri 2, student attendance for Tri 1 will be reviewed on November 18, 2026. The Tri 2 parking lottery will be held on November 18, 2026. Students will be notified by email if they have been selected for a pass by November 20, 2026.

To determine eligibility for a parking pass for Tri 3, student attendance for Tri 2 will be reviewed on March 3, 2027. The Tri 3 parking lottery will be held on March 3, 2027. Students will be notified by email if they have been selected for a pass by March 5th 2027.
