Message for 8th grade families and students

Hello students & families, 

We have selected space in our AVID class for next year at Hazen. AVID students are students interested in attending college but need extra support to attain their academic potential. 

In AVID, students…

set and achieve meaningful goals
play games and participate in activities that build up the classroom community
talk about what to do when teachers introduce something new and learning gets tough
develop answers to the question “What’s the point of school, anyway?”
go on field trips to absorb what colleges and the world has to offer!
