Seniors 2010 - Be prepared for your busy year!
The 2010 Senior Survival Guide is online. Senior survival week was the 4th week of September. All seniors came through the Career Center during their government class to go through the Senior Survival Guide, a step-by step planning guide to use as they begin to plan in earnest for your 13th year. Learn about college applications, career choices, scholarships, FASFA and much more! If you were absent the day your class was scheduled, stop by and pick up a guide today.

Seniors – Rotary Youth of the Month
September to May the Renton Rotary honors one exceptional senior from each of the Renton High Schools. A selection committee of Rotary members reviews applications and interview students. The award is given to students who participate in volunteer work in their community, possess leadership abilities, maintain a good grade-point average and participate in school activities. The students and their parents are guests at a Rotary luncheon. Deadline to apply for the year was October 15. You only need to apply once.

Juniors and Seniors – are you working? Would you like to receive credit for your work hours?  See Mrs. Buckingham in the Career Center to find out more about Work Site Learning, or check for more info on the Career Center website!

Juniors – What are you doing with the rest of your life after high school?
What’s the difference between SAT and ACT, and do I need one? We’ll be answering these and other pressing junior questions during the week of February 8th , when all US History classes will spend class time in the Career Center and the Lab. Parents of juniors – please remember that a copy of the “Junior Guide” is available on the Career Center webpage. To view a Power Point presentation, click here.

Sophomores – Are you ready?
We will be seeing you during the first week of second semester when your Language Arts classes head to the Lab for your “Career Cruising” sessions. You will be able to take an interest inventory online, investigate colleges, and really learn how to manipulate this great college and career planning software!

Freshmen – Where is the Career Center and what does it do for you?  What is a transcript? How many credits do I need to graduate? Why do my grades matter? All Freshmen came through the Career Center during their IIT or Health class the week of October 12 to answer these and many more questions.
