HSPE Testing Letter to Parents

HSPE Testing continues Today
Classroom locations for the HSPE testing will be posted on the Attendance windows at Lunch time. Check to make sure you know what room you are testing in. For information about who is testing see the parent letter above. There is a special Bell Schedule for the rest of the week.

Bike Club
There is a mandatory meeting after school  on Thursday to discuss our bike ride this coming Sunday.
 
Engineering Discovery Days  for high school students
Will be held on the University of Washington - Seattle campus April  24.  They will have presentations about their college and programs, as well as the broader UW community. This will be a wonderful opportunity for students to learn more about studying STEM fields at the UW.  Come by the Career Center for a flyer.

H.E.L.P. is here (Hazen Extended Library Period)
Starting this Tuesday and Thursday, the Hazen library will remain open until 4:00 pm. The best part is that there will be an ACTIVITY BUS provided at 4:00 to help get you home if needed. On Mondays and Wednesdays, HELP is available in the library until 3:00 pm with NO bus transportation.  Teacher and peer student tutors will be available.
 
College Planning Day Field Trip
Just a few more spots left of the College Planning Day field trip.  Turn in your permission forms today!  Priority will be given to Juniors.
 
 
AP Information Night Thursday March 18th  7pm Hazen Library
Our overall goal is to help families and students really determine if they are willing and able to take on the rigors of an AP course(s). It should last approximately one hour.

Hazen Virtual Book Club
Do you like to read?  Would you like to connect with other students who like to read and discuss great book?  Mrs. Ferbrache, the librarian, would like to set up a virtual book club for students using Learning Gateway.  NO meetings, just online conversation about books. If you are interested, stop by the library for more details.
 
Hazen Guys Swim & Dive
Reminder that the end of the season banquet will be on Monday, March 22nd at 7:00p at Hazen in the cafeteria.  Please bring a dessert to share.  Invite your family and come see the various awards and recognition everyone receives.   Again, Guys Swim & Dive . . . end of season banquet on Monday, March 22nd @ 7:00p.

You have until Friday, March 26th to order a Class of 2013 t-shirt or sweatshirt! You can pick up an order form in Ms. Stancil’s room, 203. Get your Class of 2013 shirt or sweatshirt today!
 
Relay for Life
All those planning on attending Relay for Life, please register online @ rentonrelay.org.  also, plan to attend a Relay meeting in the Large Group room Thursday, right after school at 2:05.
 
CHEER-CHEER-CHEER. . .
It is time to get ready for tryouts. .. . pre-tryout packets are in the ASB office (they really are now) and the mandatory parent  meeting is tonight @6pm. Please contact a cheerleader or coach Karli with any questions!
 
LEADERSHIP APPLICATIONS
If you are a current sophomore or junior who wants to make a difference at Hazen and be part of the planning team for school activities, apply now to leadership class. Applications are available at the ASB office.
 
The ASB Office will be closed Monday, March 22 through Wednesday, March 24.
  
Junior Prom is coming up fast! 
Tickets will be on sale this Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and next week on Thurs and Friday.  Tickets are $9 w/ ASB for a single ticket and $11 without ASB.  So everyone get ready!

This years 9 and 10 grade students interested in DECA next year must sign up for Introduction to marketing

There is a GSA meeting after school today in room 212.  WE have some important topics to discuss!  Hope to see you there.
 
Key Club Pizza Night
Come support Key Club this Friday, March 19th at Flying Pie Pizza in Renton.  Ten percent of sales from the whole day will go to your Key Club so tell your family and friends to go eat some pizza.  It is located by Castle Ice.

Salisbury Steak with mashed potatoes and roll, corn dog or buffalo chicken salad.
